Our Jeep Has Death Wobbles ~ Poor Thing!

OK, today we found out that the Jeep is suffering from something called Death Wobbles! Well, better the Jeep than me, I guess. Last month, I drove home from town, hit a dip too fast, and the entire front end started to wobble violently. I managed to stop and then drove slowly home without incident. Hubby had a lot of work done to the suspension and other stuff, and nothing else happened for several weeks. But when we left Los Angeles the other day, driving around 70 mph in the fast lane on the freeway, still in Los Angeles, traffic everywhere, the front end started to rock, roll, and wobble like crazy! Iwas screaming in fright, sure that was the end of us, but my hubby did a magnificent job of slowing the Jeep down and saving us. Phew!

Today, he took it to the local Tire Store, and was told it's suffering from a Death Wobble. They said the dealer may not even know what that is and we may have to take it to a place that specializes in Jeeps. Well, the dealer in Lancaster knew about it and my husband will take it in on Friday. This does not mean they can cure the problem, apparently no one knows how to find it. At least that's how I understand it.

Has anyone out there in Bloggyland heard of this or had it happen to you?

I have read lots of your blog posts today, but I'm nowhere near caught up. My Google Chrome seems to suffer from some sort of wobble today, as well. Maybe it's just too hot here. It's 104 outside and probably a good 80 plus in here. We need air conditioning for about three weeks a year here, but we don't have it, so we suffer.

Samson says: Tell me about it!!!

Tomorrow we're going on another road trip. This time to Glendale, which means we'll go on a different freeway along the beautiful San Gabriel mountains. I don't think I have any pictures of that route, so I'll bring my camera again. We'll take our old truck with its rebuilt engine. That should be exciting, hoping all along that it can handle a road trip. It has sat for so many years, one can only hope.

Anyway, as you can see my hubby's little container garden is doing pretty well. We've had some wonderful red peppers, green peppers, and lots of tomatoes. And the rosemary is doing well too. My petunias are looking scrawny because of the heat. I need to feed them soon. But right now, I'm on my way to hit the proverbial cold shower! Hope you all have a nice evening.
