Old Family Photos

At Landsort Lighthouse, 1937 ~ My dad to the right, his brother Sven to the left, and my uncle Edvin in the middle. Uncle Edvin was the husband of my mother's sister, Margit.

Looks like they had a great time out boating in the Stockholm archipelago.

  1. I am very fond of lighthouses, and that's a great one, Inger. I love these old pix. We can see the landscape in the background, and the fashions for men in that time. Why do the men get to have all the fun? And who took the photo?

Hope your weekend is a good one for you, your hubs and the pups.

  7. Come to think of it, S.J. is right! Most of the men I know would have had a can of beer with them in that boat.

Great pics! I know it's stereotyping, but I'm surprised your dad and his brothers aren't blonds.

  9. Young men posing together - they just have a certain look, you know? I have a couple of my Dad and his friends like that and they are so special since they come from a time before I was even around. Lovely old photos.

  13. Old photos of our parents are so treasured! Loved the ones you shared with us. I didn't notice they were drinking out of cups in the boat until someone pointed it out, then I had to go back and look! Love their caps, too.

  18. well they are definitely civilized men drinking out of tea cups on a BOAT! and have good balance too! But I bet they had many adventures that werent that civilized where the sea is concerned!

Thank you for sharing these - old photos make us stop and wonder about times past, dont they?

  21. Dear Inger, one of the great enjoyments of life for me is seeing photographs from the past of the bloggers I follow or even before their childhood. Both of these photographs you've shared with us have a story. One day I'd love to learn more about them. Peace.
