Sunday Morning Rreflections

We got a card this week from Gabby, our friend Jody's daughter. Jody passed away a few years back, young, only 60. The card announced the birth of a son, Lincoln Thomas. I felt so sad for Jody ~ that she didn't get to see him, hold him, and watch him grow up. Then I thought about Gabby and her husband, of their happiness; and I thought about life, how it goes on, one generation after the other.........

  1. Life and death, one thing that never changes. very sad for the daughter and baby, no mom to call no grandmother to hug...

  4. Life is so fleeting, Inger. The spirit of Jody will participate in Lincoln Thomas' life through Gabby.
Going form one generation to the next.

  7. It's unfortunate that The baby will never see his grandma in real life but hopefully there are some videos and photos of Jody that the baby can see to know about his grandmother.

We are all here temporarily and when our number is called, we have to go. There's a better life beyond where there is no pain and suffering.

    Hugs,
    JB

  8. I do understand. My mom died before I married. she was 62. she never met my husband or my Blessing and that saddens me.

  10. I'd like to think she is watching and hopefully with all the media we have, perhaps young Lincoln will learn about his grandmother through film and stories.

  14. I am sorry about her loss. It is hard to lose anyone at any age. I lost my brother at 51 and my best friend around 56. Way too young.

  15. I'm sure that Gabby was really missing her mother at the birth of this precious baby! How wonderful that a part of Jody will live on in this little guy! Life holds so many complex emotional moments! Congratulations to the new family! :-)
