Computer Issues

Attempting to catch the morning mist.

As soon as I decide to blog again and look forward to finding out how everyone is doing, my computer acts up.

A forest of juniper trees. Yes, they are trees although they do look like bushes.

I haven't contacted my Internet service provider yet, as I'm making so much progress with cleaning out all the old stuff from the house, changing closets, and making room in one closet for things I have stored in the old van.

I did some digging after the mudslide, but my neighbor came today and helped with the road and Glenn dug out the ditch and fixed the pipes for the laundry. So now I can wash clothes again.

On my modem, the light for System goes off, then it comes back, then off again. While it's off, I'm offline. Any ideas why this may be? Windows 10? But I have had it since July. Still I'm sure it has affected my Google Chrome negatively, but on and off line, not so sure.

So if I'm not visiting you, this is the reason why. I will get it together soon.

Have a wonderful rest of the week.

  1. We have the exact same issue with our internet. We keep unplugging the modem and then plugging it back in -- multiple times a day. Its very tiresome. Glad you are making progress on going through stuff. I'm hoping it is therapeutic for you.

  2. We've had that problem several times Once it was the modem and the problem went away as soon as it was replaced. The next time it was the connecting wires outside the house. The wires must have wiggled in the storm and something wasn't connecting all the time especially when it was windy. They replace the wires and it's been working well since then. My husband has problem with Window 10 with some of his dairy animal registration programs and has to have assistance from a tech.

Take care and know that you are missed but we understand.
    Have a great week.
    Hugs,
    JB

  3. I had to get my modem replaced a few months ago, and when I moved the installer forgot to connect me so I suffered slow speed for a week or so. I reported it to get it fixed (the telco tech, said the problem was caused by a contract installer. . .) I loaded Win 10 then removed it, as it caused me problems right away and didn't like some of the things it did. Take care of yourself, Inger. I'm trying to sort out problems here with other things.

  4. We have some of those internet problems, but we have a terrible internet service provider out in my area. Take care, Inger. I think of you often and hope you are well!

  5. You're certainly keeping yourself busy Inger. Oh we have those internet problems too and we don't live in a desert canyon. I hate the Internet when it goes slow,I shout at it but it never listens. Take care.

  6. Our too goes out every once in a while. Don't know why but it always comes back.

  7. I imagine the provider can just check and see if it's them and not your computer.

Your countryside is so beautiful. It's funny that I am from such a green place and have discovered I love the desert.

Much progress, that has to make you feel better getting all that done.

    Have a blessed week.

  8. I just hope that every thing is fine with you and Samson and Faith. I have been thinking of you. Work has been crazy busy and hopefully it will slow down in winter. I might be able to keep up with my blogger friends.
    Take Care of yourself.

  10. I think I've said to you before that I put computer problems right up there with troubles with my car! :-) I hope you get it figured out, and your back among those of us in cyber space quickly!

  11. My guess is that it's storm-related. I agree with Kim in taking the ostrich approach to computer and car problems...

  12. I've heard of Juniper trees, but didn't know what they looked like. You might try Googling the issue with the computer, if the computer works long enough for you to Google something. I usually fix my computer by Googling, and the world answers, eager to assist me.

    Love,
    Janie

  13. It's good you survived all that rain and the associated difficulties. We are in our third straight day of rain and wind here. So much for the leaf season, the wind is stripping the trees.

  14. Your driveway looks lots better, Sometimes here we have internet problems, I unplug the modem/router, count to 10, turn it on again, and usually all is working well. Take care, a little at a time, like forbidden food, is the way to go. Hugs from NZ.

  15. sounds like your signal to the modem is coming and going. call your internet provider, Windows 10 has nothing to do with your modem. not once but twice we had this problem and both times a squirrel had chewed through a small part of the line. but ours has a line and yours may not. but it is something to do with the modem.

  16. We, too, had that problem and hubby had to go replace the modem. Your internet provider, yes, should supply you with a new one, but you'll have to turn in your old one.

  21. I'm glad to see you back blogging, Inger. If it's not modem problems it could be the bugs that rode along with the Windows 10 install. When I did a couple of complete virus scans on my computer all the troublesome issues went away.
