Finally!

Dark clouds clouds gathered and a little rain fell the night before last.

I have longed for cold weather and rain for more than six months. I know, of course, that rain and floods have destroyed so much on the East coast and in the South that I hesitate to even post how happy I am about this.

On our walk this morning, I saw these dark clouds to the west and sunlight covering that hillside in the background. It looked gorgeous in real life, much better than I captured in this picture.

Turning to the east, the clouds broke up to let some light in from the sun rising behind the mountains.

Casting deep shadows across the landscape.

This is the only picture I edited in Photo. I made it a little lighter because I liked the junipers against the sky and wanted to better see what it looked like.

Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. I meditated on how thankful I am for my family, the one that raised me and is no longer with me, and my American family who is very much in my life; all my friends, and, of course, Samson and Faith. I am also grateful for the peace this country life offers me

  5. I love that stormy blue sky. And I like to see changes too. We had a cloudy day yesterday which was nice for a change. I had lots of candles and lights on. Enjoy your weekend sweet friend! I'm thankful we are friends!

  6. We too are enjoying country life for 2 more weeks. I love the view across the paddocks to the eastern sunrise, and see the space. You have peace, and with Samson and Faith, can feel family love in this country and your previous one. Super photos with those clouds hovering.

  7. Yay, I'm glad you are getting rain and cooler temperature. You waited for a long time for this. Here, I would wish for warmer weather. It's still very cold and it feels like we are in January with lots of snow.
    Enjoy...
    Hugs, Julia

  11. You needed the rain, so don't feel guilty about what you need. I've felt that way as well, and while I'm grateful for the rain, I'll admit to being happy when it goes away. I'd love some snow now! :-)

I'm glad you had a good Thanksgiving - Onto the next holiday. I'm so not ready! Take care, my friend!

  15. Dear Inger, given the new information that was brought out yesterday about global warming, I wonder how anyone can deny it. But it is so true that given global warming, we are caught in the difficulty of what to be grateful for --because what we need perhaps here weather-wise is not what someone else needs. I just hold in my heart the Oneness that somehow we are all blessings to one another. Peace.
