for your thoughts, prayers and support.
Jeanne took this picture of me as I was getting ready to leave the hospital. She also gave me the fabulous shawl she made and wrapped me up in. Jeanne has been a constant, caring support to me.
I don't remember much about the hospital stay. In the operating room, I remember getting a shot in my back, which I, for a brief second thought was a bit strange, and then I was out of it.
The surgery went well. My recovery is going well too. I took a couple of Tylenol for pain the first few days, but I don't need them now.
I only have one drain to empty and record.
At home, I was greeted by my niece, Jasmine, who had made a fabulous spicy mushroom soup, which was just what I needed.
Faith wasn't particularly happy to see me. Having a visitor, who I'm sure gave her lots of treats, took her for walks and paid her a lot of attention, clearly was a lot of fun for her.
Then I smelled of all those scary hospital smells, so it took a while for us to get back to normal.
All is normal now, she's snoozing here by my side and all is as it should be in my world.
Even better, winter arrived early with a special snow storm just for me, or so it seemed. All gone now, but still so lovely.

ReplyDeleteWelcome home, Inger, and lots of wishes for daily improvements in recovery. Snow already? Pretty, yes, but that shawl might be paying its way!!! YAM xx
Glad to hear it, Inger. Rest well and be gentle with yourself. 💙
ReplyDeleteHi Inger - I'm so pleased to see you - and how brilliant Jeanne has been ... that scarf is just so right and must be very comforting. Also how lovely Jasmine is/was with you - seeing you through those early days of healing. Faith - dogs are funny aren't they - they know which side their bread is buttered! But they come around ... and I'm so happy to hear you've both settled back happily together ... normality has almost returned. I know you love snow ... so blessings all round - though as you mention it's gone now ... you could come over here for some of the very wet stuff! Cheers and with lots of thoughts for continued healing ... Hilary
ReplyDeleteWonderful news that the surgery went well and that you are recovering. It has to be such a comfort to have such thoughtful helpers to be there for you. Funny about Faith but Callie would be just the same. Glad the new wore off and she is back at your side.
ReplyDeleteHeal quickly.
You look good in the picture! Wishing you a swift recovery!
ReplyDeleteJust had the magic disapearance of the comment, always makes me wonder what i typed. Love the shawl, and seeing you looking good in the hospital, and happy to hear you are doing well and your friends/family are standing by for you. Kiss Sweet Faith, one from me and one from Beau
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are back home and settling in with Faith after what must have seemed an eternity for Faith. She must be begrudging you for leaving her even though she was spoiled by Jasmine. Pets are funny that way. She probably is trying to figure out, where that new sent comes from.
ReplyDeleteYou look all cosy and happy in your beautiful new shawl. Thanks goodness for caring friends and family and Faith.
Speedy recovery and peace of mind.
Hugs,
Julia
Wonderful to know all went well. Snow, a special welcome home for you, a shawl for warmth and comfort, and Faith, she would sense something different. Hugs and love from down south.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear you are at home and healing. Thanks for giving us an update. And God bless Jeanne for all that she has done for you. Take care of yourself and snuggle with Faith. Sweet hugs, Diane
