"How glorious a greeting the sun gives the mountains!" ~ John Muir, The Mountains of California.
This Sunday morning, I'm reflecting on how great it is to see the sun again. Living through five years of drought I became very tired of what seemed to be eternal sunshine. And then the rains came, and the snow, and more rain, and overcast skies, and rain, and snow.......
Samson (who, because of his eye problems and general furryness, does not tolerate the sun very well) is reflecting too.
This is what he has to say:
OK, mommy, now that the sun's up, it's time for me to come in the house. Maybe I could get something to snack on? A dog biscuit, perhaps?

Have a great Sunday everyone. ~ Your, Samson
Samson is outshining the gorgeous sunrise... he deserves a treat or even two... what a beautiful view you have each day when you step outside. we still need rain here
ReplyDeleteThe dawn of time...
ReplyDeleteThe sun kissed mountains photos is a great way to either start or end the day. Such majestic beauty.
ReplyDeletePoor Samson, who can blame him for not liking too much sun. He certainly love his perch on that table though.
Have a very nice week Inger.
Hugs, Julia
Very pretty sunrise. Yes, sometimes those clouds and gloomy weather are wonderful for replenishing our world, but sunshine, glorious sunshine brings joy.
ReplyDeleteThat table was made for him, and even if sunshine is not his favourite friend, we all benefit from those rays, and I hope for you it gives that lift after winter. Beautiful as it starts to rise above those far hills.
ReplyDeleteI love the sun coming over the mountains. We used to do little dances of happiness when it would rain during the drought. This season, not so much. We are at 65" of rain for the season (boggles the mind) -- and it isn't over yet. I know we need it but I am so hungry for sunshine...
ReplyDeleteSunrise is my favorite time of day. Nice shots of it bathing the mountains. Thank you for my Samson fix. Looking good big guy.
ReplyDeleteCan't beat the sun!
ReplyDeleteYou have THE BEST headers, Inger!
I am NOT a morning person; sunrise is something I enjoy only if I see it just before going to bed (but your pics are beautiful)!!
ReplyDeleteSamson looks so relaxed! Glad you are getting some sun!
ReplyDeleteI love to watch the sunrise and because I have trouble sleeping, I get to see it often. Your sunrises are magnificent.
ReplyDeleteYes! Snacks! - followed by . . Snacks!
ReplyDeleteHi Samson and Inger - well I sure hope you got your snack and a darker place to rest a-while ... and as Michelle says - Samson does look so relaxed ... the rain must have been wonderful and a necessary life-saver, though sadly a destroyer for some ... but those clear sunrise silvery shots are gorgeous to see ... happy week - Hilary
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the pictures, I live on an estate, and don't often see sunrise! Love love, Andrew. Bye.
ReplyDeleteBig blazing ball of light, wow! I would get tired of it if there was nothing but drought, though.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful photos, Inger! Love the quote of John Muir: "How glorious a greeting the sun gives the mountains!"
ReplyDeleteSamson is adorable as always! Enjoy your dog biscuit, lovely Samson!
What a beautiful sunrise, Inger. I loved every drop of rain but I was really needing some sunshine to get me moving. I was beginning to live in slow motion!
