Before Sunrise

The silhouette of the hills reminds me of a Swedish poem about the cliffs of the large South island in Stockholm.

As cut out of sooty paper -- the poet wrote about the silhouette of the cliffs.

I love watching the sun rise over the hills and mountains this time of the year.

Today, Monday, June 21st, the sun rises here at 5:39 a.m. and sets at 8:11 p.m. I know it's been up for awhile where most of you live.

Have a great day!

  2. Hi Inger - we have no sun today as you'll see from my email ... but I'm sure it's just hiding, especially as it's mid-summer's day - and our tennis week down here at Eastbourne ... but those views are gorgeous - it is 4.45 am our time ... I hope it is tomorrow! Cheers - happy day - Hilary

  6. Ours was up at 5:53 and I was up to see it happen per usual but overcast and rainy day hid the sun from me. You certainly have a great view and loved the sun bow.

  9. Silhouette - lovely word!
I seldom see the sunrise, as I sleep late. However, I've watched lots of stunning sunsets.

  13. When the sun comes up here, it is behind the mountains for a long time! I love that image from the poem -- cut from sooty paper...yes, the mountains look like that!

  17. Our home has heavily wooded sections east of us so our sunrise is not so striking as your wonderful photos show. it's nice that I can enjoy your sunrise!
