Playing In B&W

Some day, hopefully, I will learn my camera and a picture like this will be better. I think I'm pretty good at composition, but I need to know how to make a small bird stand out.

I haven't taken anywhere near as many pictures with my - no longer - new camera as I thought I would.

  3. I hardly ever take a photo that I don't have to enhance it or edit it with a program. it is very hard to get a sharp and really good black and white with a camera. I mean one that highligts the bird... I like to play with black and white in the camera but be careful. i left mine on black and white and missed a good photo because it was black and white not color. ha ha on me

    1. See, I didn't even know you could take pictures in black and white with these cameras. So much to learn.

    2. And I'm sure I enhanced it but just in Photo, not in the ones you use.

  4. Inger, I love your photo. I remember when I used to take black and white photos with my little Brownie Camera. It was a cheap point and shoot but kept my memories alive.
I still haven't discovered all what I could do with my Canon camera but it serves me well. One thing, with digital camera we can always erase the bad photos. Practice, makes perfect.

  5. It's a wonderful picture! And I can see the bird very clearly. It looks like a big bird, it's a wonder that the thin branch is still straight.

  7. Love your shot. Yes, you are so good with composition. I think that is almost inborn--I never had it.
