Oh, To Be In England

now that April's there.....

I often think of this poem, Thoughts from Abroad, by Robert Browning, in the month of June. My thoughts go like this: Oh, to be in Sweden now that June's there.....

You see, the month of June is the time I'm homesick. The light summer nights, the lakes, the flowers, the green fields, Swedish summers as I remember them.  More about that in another post, because yesterday I found a little bit of England in a valley on the other side of town.

I went there with Joyce to see some puppies belonging to an English friend of hers. And found so much more. Here are some pictures I took. This will be a story in two parts, because I want to show it all:

I hope you enjoyed this display. I have no idea how she managed to keep it all alive during the dry years. Not only do you have to water, but you have to love your garden with much passion....

I will post more from this lovely afternoon, including a not so good picture of five-day old puppies with their mommy.

This is for Tammy j who leaves lovely comments on my posts, but doesn't have a blog of her own:

I have tried to contact you to thank you for your comments, but when I click on your name, instead of getting the Peanut, I get lovely pictures from a marina in Florida. This was very confusing. But reading your last comment, I believe it must be the friend you mentioned. If you don't want to be found, I will just thank you here and let you know I hope you are doing well. Email me if you want to me to touch base every now and then.
