I think Ronica must be the one who put a found old and rusty roller skate on a post by my driveway. It was a lovely surprise and to enjoy it even more, I moved it to a post I can see from my living room window. I guess I photo bombed myself this time!
This must have annoyed the ravens because not only do they leave their "mark" inside it, but they manage to almost make it fall to the ground. I'm sure they are the culprits as they definitely consider all my posts their own.
What fun Inger ... loved the rusty roller skate ... and maybe you'll need to find another place for the skate ... have a good week - Hilary
ReplyDeleteYou already know that I enjoy Rusty things as much as you do! And this one is pretty cool and I'm glad you moved it where you could see it. Maybe those birds were trying to make it fall to the ground
ReplyDeleteThat must be their roost! And this is an antique...I had one like it as a girl! Enjoy your day my friend!
ReplyDeleteYou would think that they would have been as happy as you that you put the rusty skate on that post. Maybe they tried to roller skate. haha.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Hugs, Julia
Boy did that skate take me back. Maybe the ravens were trying to figure out how to ride it.
ReplyDeleteOK probably not.
I remember having skates like that! Maybe you can nail it to the side of the post? That way you can enjoy it without taking up valuable raven space!!
ReplyDeleteI expect they were trying it on, thinking you'd left a present on their post.
ReplyDeleteThe light where you live is wonderful for rust. All the colors and undertones come out.
ReplyDeleteI wonder exactly how old it is? What a cool find! And the angle of your shot makes it look gigantic!
ReplyDeleteThat is SO cool!!!!! Thanks for sharing. I love it.
ReplyDeletethat brought back great memories! I used to skate for hours in them and wore the key on a cord around my neck! what fun! well... apparently not for the ravens. LOL. xo
ReplyDeleteme too Tammy - wearing the key around my neck. Hours and hours of skating . My sis and i would also take a break from skating to do hopskotch and my favorite, playing hospital with the neighbor kids. We had a raised front porch and under the porch was where our hospital was. One of us would get in an "accident" and the team would have to bring them to the hospital and fix them up. what fun..what memories!
DeleteNICE. I had a pair of those!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a great piece of "post art" with that skate up there. Boy, do I remember my skates. Every day I would be riding them down the sidewalk in front of our house in Kansas City. What memories. And the ravens - they are finally making friends with me. It's taken 7 years here and just two weeks ago they started showing up with more in tow. They were so skittish even a slight movement of a curtain and they woudl fly away. Now they stay and wait for food.
ReplyDeleteMy ravens know I have a little black dog who loves to chase them. They know she'll never catch them, something she has yet to fully understand. So they are no friends of mine. But my neighbor has them tamed at his place where he feeds them goodies intended for his horses.
ReplyDeleteGracie has been driving me crazy - telling me I need to figure out my laptop passwords so I can get on here and wish Samson a happy birthday!!! Now, a belated happy birthday! She sends lots of licks, snuggles and love to her boy Samson. Honestly, I have been trying forever to get this thing figured out... I'm hoping this posts. Yours seems to be the only blog I cannot comment on and I cannot figure it out for anything. *fingers crossed* that this goes on.
ReplyDeleteSamson Says: Love you right back and those ears! Sending lots of XOXOXOXOXOXXOXXOXO to you my sweet Gracie.
