That's a lovely scene. A couple of years ago I saw several little kids wading at the Preserve in a shallow pond catching frogs, with a naturalist. Yells of joy, everybody wet and muddy and happy on a hot day, lovely.
No worries at all, how childhood should be. Looking back, mine had no worries, my parents sheltered me from any financial hardship they had, and with great neighbours and a friend just across the metal road, also on a farm, we were all happy and content, no fancy technical gadgets or phones, no laptops, NO fancy clothes, an old bike with no gears, or a horse to get to school, those wee lads seems content and happy in a way we have forgotten existed many years ago.
It reminds me of my youth. We spent so much time wading in the brook and we would catch little trouts for our supper. It gave us a sense of self worth. I wish all kids would be as carefree as we were. I feel very sad for today's youth. Hugs, Julia
So true Inger ... when children can play with no worries ... gorgeous photo too. Stay safe and content ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI loved wading in any water when I was a child, as long as it was not deep as in over my head. this does indeed remind me of childhood..
ReplyDeleteI remember playing in the streams as a child, I guess I could have been a tomboy.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo! Have a happy day!
Love the picture and the simple joys of childhood. No electronics needed.

Nature's children, having fun in the water, trying perhaps with their limited means, to catch some fish.
ReplyDeleteIt is a good photo, and symbolic as well.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great photo, Inger. I love seeing children at play, seemingly carefree. Times like that are fleeting!
