Rust ~ Post No. 30

This is one of hundreds of items we found all over our property when we first moved here.

I don't know what it is or what it was used for. It's very small, I think it has an engine in it. It's also very heavy. Would a child use it?

I kept it because it's unusual and now I have found a place for it. It's one of three items that Mark and Ronica helped me move to create a yard art display in my back yard.

  1. Hi Inger - it almost looks like something that helps rounding up animals ... but it will be interesting to know what it was. I'm so pleased you're making some art in your yard ... stay safe - and all the best - Hilary

  2. It looks like a riding lawnmower. How small is it? Maybe someone made a toy one for a child.

  3. Yard art display? Sounds promising. The above item is certainly gong to find its right place in your yard.

  4. It does look like an old riding lawnmower but it's hard to know! All kinds of things end up rusting away in this country. I always wonder who used something and what life was like for them. Have a good day my friend!

  7. I was thinking toy riding lawnmower that a child could ride around behind dad pretending he was working too.

  8. It's small, super heavy, and it has an engine. I can't move it, which doesn't mean much these days, but I don't see a child moving it either, unless they rode around in it under supervision. I've never seen anything like it.

  12. My husband thinks it is a little garden tractor. It is cute!

  13. I think it was a ride on lawn mower, and the tall handle was to lift up and lower the mower deck with the blades, Lovely piece of history, you can have a little garden show with other bits and pieces.

  14. Looks like perfect yard art to me! My guess would be a small utility vehicle. Perhaps you could purchase attachments, like a trailer to haul wood or whatever.

  15. It looks like an old ride on lawn mower that the mowing part has been removed. The long lever would have been to lower the mower to cut the grass. That's my guess anyway. It has character as a lawn ornament.

  18. it's like a cute old go cart. I imagine that might be valuabale to someone - amazing that they left it whoever lived there before. But now, it's probably cuter than it was before it rusted out.

  19. I agree, some kind of go-cart to cruise around on? --I'll look forward to seeing how you incorporate it into your yard-art.

  20. That is wonderful!!!! I am guessing that it's a cruising vehicle for getting all over the property. I love that you kept it and displayed it!
