This picture evokes in me both sadness and anger. Five lives lost, for what? Our flag so poignant, even the statue seems to be mourning a terrible day in America.
It was a sad day for our country. One committed suicide, I guess he realized he should not have been involved with the attack on the capitol. I have to wonder about the capitol police taking selfies with these crazy people. I thought at least the police would be safe, didn't these extremist say they supported the police. Take care, enjoy your day!
it's frightening. any mob always is. but there is an amazing thing about those people... as if they have no regard for life itself. or values other than their own agenda. and now the leaders of them like Qanon or whatever that is... are calling for every capitol in the entire nation to be under siege by their followers. I think Sandra above may be right. and it's scary.
Sad, very sad indeed. Let's hope it doesn't mark the beginning of deterioration in the existence of this big nation.

Hi Inger - no comment from me ... just sad. I feel for you ... stay safe - Hilary
ReplyDeleteThe enemy is within and I fear for us all.
ReplyDeleteI fear it is about to get worse
ReplyDeleteThe sadness is almost unshakeable. I know the cooler heads out number the others but hate blocks all reason.
ReplyDeleteInger, what is that statue? It does look like they are mourning, but it must be over a hundred years old.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but I don't know. I tried to find out, but with so many statues inside the Capitol, Google would not cooperate and search on the outside.
DeleteI hope that things will begin to settle down. The videos were frightening.
ReplyDeleteIt was just awful to watch - you are all in our thoughts xx
ReplyDeleteSo sad!!! Let's just hope this is the last of it.
ReplyDeleteA sad day indeed!!!
ReplyDeleteThe whole world (at least not the Trump followers) mourn!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid of what might happen all over the country on Jan. 20th.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
