Exhale

As the sun set yesterday on four very difficult years for me, I found myself exhaling, tension leaving my neck and shoulders, a few tears of gratitude for a kind and caring man being sworn in as our new President.

I avoid politics here, but yesterday was not about politics. Yesterday was about truth first and foremost. And it was about decency, empathy, caring and trust.

So I exhaled, dried my tears, took a deep breath and smiled.

  3. Stunning sunset!
Yes, Biden seems kind and caring, Kamala Harris is very cute. However, it's too soon to feel relieved. Four years of deep division in a nation's life, don't just get away with a ceremony, no matter how impressive organized.

    1. I know the country is so divided, but at least now we will get some leadership to fight this virus. That has been the worst.

  5. I,too, had tears at various times during the ceremony, we did have very good coverage on our TV down here.Dr Jill Biden looked so smart, co-ordinated gloves and mask, previous presidents attending, Mike Pence, brave man, I wonder what he will do now. Be thankful ,Inger ,for a change in leadership that I hope will see a better future for you all up North.

  7. It was a good day for most of us. One of my favorite news coverage images, tho, was t-rump's plane flying off into the sunset...going, going, gone! Now THAT for me was a time for tears of happiness to see him leave.

  9. Dear Inger, thank you for expressing what so many of us feel. The road ahead will be bumpy given the depth of division between so many of us. But I trust Biden/Harris and their ability and good intentions and integrity. I so hope that all of us--no matter what party we belong to--will want to be united. Peace.

  10. It’s a great start. Now we will see what will happen. At least we know the lies will stop from the top and there will be an example of civility and dignity from the man who is our President. It will be a very hard task to unite this nation and I’m glad someone like Biden is willing to try.

  11. He is a good man and I have hope again. So many problems and not all can be solved quickly but at least we are dealing with honesty.
