Something will have gone out of us as a people if we ever let the remaining wilderness be destroyed... We simply need that wild country available to us, even if we never do more than drive to its edge and look in.

Years ago, when we were a lot younger and went camping, Hugh would choose the most remote, furthest from civilisation place, hoping no-one else would venture so far out. and we would have peace, quiet, safety then, no need to worry about anyone stealing gear, or bringing in a virus. At one place there was a small hill, and a lovely view of our camp below.I hope the world can hold onto such places for many years, so others can look over the edge and see the beauty.
