Beautiful photo, Inger! I was born and raised in New Jersey but lived in California for 20 years until my husband’s job was transferred to the DC area in ‘96. I loved CA and I loved visiting the missions. Thank you for sharing!
Dear Inger, I'd so enjoy visiting the missions built by the Franciscans in California and New Mexico. When people have prayed in a place for many years--like the cathedrals of Europe--and have brought their hopes and dreams, fears and tragedies, joy and sadness to the sanctuary, there is a feeling of Presence. We are then, I think, connected to all those who have gone before us. Thank you for this evocative photograph. Peace.

Thank you all for your comments. I am so glad you liked the picture. I have some more. I spent several days down there in 2004 and the pictures were on that disk I found in a drawer. Sometimes it pays off to clean your drawers!!
