Black Women ~ Oil
I love the strength of these women, as captured by the artist, our friend Fran, aka fishducky.
While this is a serious painting, fishducky has a sense of humor that just won't quit. Today, I went to her blog to read about the places where she definitely does not want to live. When I read her posts, I usually find several things that are funny, particularly when she writes about her own life. Today, I was in stitches the whole way through, so I must share this with you, please check it out here.
i enjoyed her post. 'lost in translation' for sure.
ReplyDeleteand i live quite near gun barrel city, tx!
Gorgeous painting. I'll go visit her blog. That painting reminds me of a poem about black women, and slavery, I think, with the line "head-ragged generals" in it.
ReplyDeleteTack, Inger--du är för sort!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed her post and will look for her book on Friday at Amazon. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteVery nice right that you share with us this Inger :-)
ReplyDeleteI am also going on right here haaar blog watching and reading.

Fishducky always makes me laugh. I'll be headed her way in a few minutes.
ReplyDeleteLove,

Inger, how many of us have had that "lost in translation" moment!!!!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteThank you ALL for such lovely comments!!
ReplyDeleteI'm still laughing over Pee Pee, Ohio!! I wrote Fran that I wish to send Gracie to live there.. LOL.
ReplyDeleteLove that about the elevator being unbearable. I once offered my credit card to a store clerk and when she scanned it, she said it came back "unbearable."
ReplyDeleteAnd a precocious little girl I met gave me a tour of her mother's garden and named all the trees and plants. I asked her if the fruit tree bore fruit and she said it was "non-pearing."
I'll head over to her blog right now. Her art--as always--amazes me. I love it ;)
ReplyDeleteDear Inger, three times a week I visit Fishducky's blog so I can begin my day with laughter! She's a delight. Peace.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Inger, a really funny post! Fishducky has the neatest sense of humor!
ReplyDeleteThe paintings are beautiful. If I remember correctly, you've highlighted her work before, to the same great applause!
Happy Easter, Inger, to you and yours!
Lovely painting. Will pop over to visit at Fran's place.
ReplyDeleteGlad Påsk!
ReplyDeleteKram från Småland!
