Samson Makes A New Year's Resolution

Samson Says:

OK, I have an attitude, I complain, I complain, and I complain (but there just seems to be so much to complain about) and now that it's a new year, mommy says I should make a resolution (whatever that is) to stop it and be more grateful. OK, I'm willing to cooperate so I look around and see this:

A poor little bird, sitting out there in the cold night. All kinds of little birds arrive to spend the night sheltered by the eves of our house. It must be very cold for them. After all, mommy covers Pippi Birdie's cage at night in the winter and he lives in the house. But the wild birds have to sleep outside where it's icy cold. They're not snug and comfy like me.

My thick (and still not brushed, oophs, a complaint again) fur makes me very hot so I like to sleep on the floor. But whenever I feel like it, I can snuggle like this in the big bed.

Soldier sleeps on the floor because he can't make it up in the bed. But he has an extra rug to sleep on so he's OK too. Here Angel sleeps with him, but usually

she sleeps in the big bed every night. Guess where mommy and daddy sleep, he, he, he!! So, OK, I get it, us dogs have much to be grateful for and I will remember and see if I can complain a little less.
That's all for today, have a nice day everyone!

  2. Dear Samson--You wrote a very nice post. Did you type it yourself or dictate it to your Mommy? Tell your Mommy to brush you, you handsome devil! Tell your Daddy he makes great gumbo!!

  7. Gee I never noticed you complaining before. Guess the Sammy smile disguises it.
Love how you three rule your territory.

  8. Samson, I'm not going to show your post to Tucker. He doesn't know about sleeping on beds. I don't think I want him getting any ideas!
I also feel sorry for the outdoor critters when it gets cold.

  9. Dear Samson,
There's an old saying among humans that "the squeaky wheel gets the oil." So complaining can have it's place. It's just the way you do it. No whining. Just a simply "woof" will do! That's the advice I think the cats with whom I live would give you. Have a happy new year in with your humans and the other animals with whom you live. It seems you have a heavenly place to live.

    Peace. And woof, woof!

  10. Samson,
Yes, we have much to be thankful for...creatures and humans alike if we just take time to focus on those ideas...thanks for the reminder!

  11. Samson, our Mickey is funny about sleeping. He sleeps on the bed until he thinks we're asleep, and then he goes and sleeps behind the bed!

  15. Samson Says: Thank you all very much for your very kind comments. I don't know how to type or read so I have to trust that mommy puts everything down just like I said it. Hmmmm.......
Gracie, you are sooo adorable and this big old dog is sending lots of love to you. Sophie, you are cute too, I've seen your picture, but I know you have that big old GSD, Mocha, and I wouldn't want to mess with him. Sending Samoyed love and hugs to you all. Happy New Year from me! -- Samson
