The Carson Mansion, Eureka, California
Pen and Ink Drawing by fishducky, AKA Fran Fischer
According to Wikipedia, the Carson Mansion in Eureka, California, is one of the most famous Victorian houses in the U. S. and thought to be the most grand. It is also one of the most photographed houses in the country. I have myself taken pictures of this fabulous American Queen Anne style home, which has housed a private club since 1950. Fishducky's drawing captures the incredible details of the master carpentry work that went into this beautiful Victorian mansion. The Carson Mansion is the grandest Victorian house I have ever seen and fishducky's work of art does it justice in a way most photographs don't.
Now THAT is a work of art...I certainly wish I had talent like that! That is beautiful Inger! Thanks so much for sharing that!ReplyDelete
Oh how beautiful. The drawing does indeed capture a certain je ne sais quoi that photographs miss. What a talented lady Fishducky is!ReplyDelete

Vilken fin tavla. Hon är verkligen duktig och har speciell stil, mycket snyggt. Här har vi varmt , hela veckan skall det bli över +20 gr hela veckan.ReplyDelete
Dear Fran, your drawing really helps me appreciate the motif of this Victorian dwelling. Thank you for being so talented!ReplyDelete
And Inger, thank you for sharing your knowledge of this house. I learned again. I'm always so glad to learn new things. Peace.
There is a Victorian home tour held here in June...I plan on attending as the homes are GORGEOUS!...:)JPReplyDelete
Pencil and ink drawings really are two of my favourite mediums. In the 1980's I managed an art and drafting supply store where I learned so much about art, the process and artists. I loved reading and looking at the books on pen and ink. Thanks for triggering this memory! RonReplyDelete
She is very talented, as this is a TRUE work of art.ReplyDelete
Gee, my comment vanished. Wonderful art, wonderful architecture.ReplyDelete
this is making me crazy, i see i am gone again from your follower widget. i do have you in my reader for now but i am wondering what is up.ReplyDelete
not twinkies! we give ours tiny last bites of some things but not all. no sugar no table scraps. i do though once a month when we have a Wendy's burger, i get a double and take one of the patties off and they get bites of that while we eat our burgers. we control their weight but i need someone to control mine. I like the Friday idea for your photos. I had a dog only blog, but it got to be to much work keeping two blogs, so now they are on my main blog.
