My husband, our simple life together.
Our dog, his furry face to kiss.
Our walks to explore our land
and stay as healthy as we can.
I am grateful for my friends.
For sunrises over mountain ridges.
Sunsets, clouds, and rain.
For all the birds and animals
that share our land.
Yes, Inger..I believe that gratitude is the mother of all virtues!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteAnd we my friend ~ are so grateful for you .
ReplyDeleteDear Inger, I am grateful for you too!
ReplyDeleteThrough troubles we see what is really important. It is always the things we take for granted that we appreciate and are grateful.
ReplyDeleteVery well said and very true!
ReplyDeleteHi Inger! What an out look you have! I love it! Thanks for coming over to read my post, and for the follow. I appreciated that comment.. Don't know how I would get that post out to magazines or anything but it meant a ton that you said that!
ReplyDeleteG is your best so far, g is for gorgeous photo and good things and gratitude... nothing better that kicking cancer....
ReplyDeleteWonderful sentiment. I'm very glad you're still here and able to live your life.
ReplyDeleteWhat a touching post and lovely shot.
ReplyDeleteso very beautiful, inger. bless you.
ReplyDeleteDear Inger, what a lovely, lyrical paean of gratitude you wrote for this posting. I can see you striding the land with your husband and Samson amidst tumble weed and mountain flower and all the beauty that you show us in your photographs.
ReplyDeleteYou've made me sit here and think of all I'm grateful for today--friends like you and my health and my home and the cats who give this home a soul. Peace.
Grace and gratitude... you have both! xo
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reminder. I suspect we all forget to be grateful for what we have every now and then.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for all of the same things (just swap husband for boyfriend, Alex hasn't got down on one knee yet!) To me, the simple things in life are the things I love the most. Friends, family, nature and beautiful moments.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for every day I am alive. Truly, I am lucky.
ReplyDeleteWell said!
ReplyDeleteI often take things for granted.
To answer your question, we travelled from Lake Havasu to the Palm Springs area. From there we came over to Orange. Today we are beginning our trek home as we head toward Vegas. We will go through Utah and hopefully visit some state parks there... Then home at last.
In relative terms, we are close to you!
And we are grateful for you sharing some of your life with us, Inger!
ReplyDeleteWe should 'live in the moment' more than we do. I've recently lost my MIL, but I'm grateful she had a long life.
Enjoying your theme, Inger, and I appreciate your visits to my blog. I haven't been working on my WIPs since this challenge started. . .
As D.G. wrote: we are truly grateful to have a chance to meet a special lady like you.
ReplyDeleteI am so grieved to hear D.G. lost her MIL. :-(
And like her, I appreciate your visits to my blog -- especially your kind words today. :-)
Love the photo of the dawn.
Your thoughts on gratitude are so precious and so true. Each day provides so many opportunities for gratitude.
ReplyDeleteI have learned from you.
ReplyDeleteIm so glad you are still here to "teach" me how to appreciate and live, through the good and bad...
and go get some more "lickin' from that samsondog!
xoxo
Gratitude is the wind behind my sail.

Gratitude really changed my life and soul forever. May I ask - what kind of cancer and when did you have it? I didn't know anything about it. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Inger. Makes one think of the many things to be grateful for.
ReplyDeleteInger, I have so much to be grateful for in my life.

Wonderfully said. We all need to take a good long look at all the good in our lives.
ReplyDeleteSuch a precious post.
ReplyDeleteYour words read like the most beautiful poem, Inger. THere is nothing more important than a grateful spirit. I think we have the opportunity to choose joy and gratitude, or to stay wounded. And following Cancer, you had the choice, too, and i so admire the zest with which you choose to live. I am happiest in simple moments with simple things. I am so glad I read this, Inger. It's an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteIt's a gift to be grateful in the midst of our trials. The photo for this post is gorgeous. Sounds like you have a wonderful life even with the challenges! Gail visiting from A-Z
