I often think of deserts as being quiet places. Except for the wind, and an occasional bird or animal.
St. Anthony the Great headed to the Desert around the year 270, to get away form the "rat race" of his time. He learned a lot about himself and was able to teach others because of that.
Isn't water fun to photograph? That's a fantastic water lily shot!
And the smell of lavender is comforting, the smell is supposed to aid in sleep. You put a bit on your wrist or pillow (the oil as a spray). That is lavender sprouting those purple stems isn't it?
Hi Inger - I'm all for quiet too .. after the A-Z and I don't have to punish my fingers any more?! Cheers and enjoy being at peace in your Canyon - fabulous photos ..

I do that a lot. Nice pictures - reminds me that I have to buy another lavender plant... it's so nice to have when relaxing and being quiet.
