Sunday Morning Reflections

Reflecting on yesterday, which ended with this gorgeous canyon sunset, I'd say it was a good day that started with a hike.

Up this hill again,

Soldier helped me,

climb past all the junipers and

closer to the top. Up was easy, with frequent stops to catch my breath, but getting down was a bit harder. It's a very short hike, but since I'm in such bad shape now, it's a suitable challenge.

After that I helped my husband unload a truck bed full of firewood and unpacked several boxes. So some progress was made and it was a good day.

Thank you so much for all your prayers, well wishes, and wonderful comments. I'm sorry I haven't had time to read your blogs, but I will take time now and later today.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

  1. Looks like a great hike to me. And, with your trusty friend to help I know that made it so much better. Glad you are getting settled. We have been loading in some more firewood ourselves. Getting ready for another bitter cold snap.

  3. These hikes are wonderful workouts for you and unloading firewood is excellent too for the arm and upper body strength. I say you are doing well and keep it up. Beautiful sky there it looks so much like colors we get here.

  8. Gorgeous sunset, Inger!

That hill looks like a pretty good workout! Glad you had Soldier with you! It sure is pretty there!

It's lots of work packing, but unpacking is a whole lot worse. You do have my sympathies!

    Happy Sunday!

  11. What beautiful photos! I hope and pray all is well and that your husband is settling in nicely. It sounds like you're getting your share of exercise. I love your beautiful surroundings.... Thanks for sharing

As far as using my 'randomness' subject - go for it - I probably got it from someone else... :)

  12. Simply gorgeous Inger, I really do need to revisit California. Yosemite is worth another look. Don't know if I could hike all those trails again though!!!

  13. What a spectacular sunset! Oh how I love sunsets ;-) Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I am about a quarter way or a third of the way through putting mom's things away. I don't have as much of her things as I thought so things aren't so bad. I'm happy I can keep some of her things rather than have to take it all to the dump. She was only able to take a few personal things with her to where she now lives. I know you will have a time trying to make space for all the new things your husband brought with him but I'm sure you will eventually know just what to do with all things to create a new home environment for you both. Hugs. xx

  14. We cut (well, he cut) firewood this weekend -- I brought some more into the house. More cold weather coming.

Glad to see you are able to hike with your handsome boy -- the weather must be a bit better where you are. :)

  15. What a beautiful Sunday morning reflection that was. That is a beautiful hill you went up, I'm glad you went at your own pace and rested when you wanted to. Nothing like a good Soldier at your side.

I also loved the juniper. Nature is priceless. Can't believe it's so special, and all free:) Take care, and stay healthy.

  16. Yes Inger it is very important to 'get back' into shape very gradually and to take nice walking breaks in between all the work! Beautiful views on this post. Take care and have a great week.

  18. Nice pictures. For me, there is nothing more peaceful than hiking through Nature, especially early in the morning.
